The 2015 Beaujolais Villages Tentation, which is aged in vat and then for 6 months in used barrel before bottling without SO2, has a crisp, focused black cherry, raspberry and bay leaf-scented bouquet that opens with gusto in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, a fine line of acidity (the pH is 3.30), plenty of raspberry coulis and wild strawberry notes, segueing towards a rounded, very poised finish. Enjoy this over the next 4-5 years, possibly longer. (NM)
Bright ruby. A fragrant bouquet evokes ripe red and blue fruits, while floral and succulent herb nuances build in the glass. In a lively, fruit-driven style, offering juicy black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors that are given spine by a core of tangy acidity. Finishes nervy and precise, displaying lingering lavender and allspice notes and a hint of silky tannins. (JR)
