Drink any of Jean-Paul Brun’s wines and it’s obvious the emphasis is on fruit, not weight. He prefers to de-stem instead of fermenting with whole clusters and he relies on native yeasts. The result is vibrant wines that express the true personality of the Gamay grape. This wine from the northernmost cru in Beaujolais, Saint Amour, is so fresh and pure. It has fruit, structure, complexity, and precise acidity, making it a worthy companion for grilled meats. Plus the ABV is a refreshing 12.5%. Perhaps you enjoy Pinot Noir from France or Oregon but not the price tag? Or perhaps you think all Beaujolais wines are Nouveau? If so, then it’s time you tried this fine offering from Jean-Paul Brun.

When I first smelled this Saint-Amour I was surprised and captivated by its delicate white pepper aromas and light red cherry notes. I just could not stop sniffing it! It's so mesmerizing. Just like with the "Les Thorins" cuvee this wine reminds me of Burgundy in every aspect. It's mineral, structured, it has great fresh acidity and a lot of savory and earthy notes that absolutely delicious red fruit. 2014 vintage in Beaujolais is my favorite so far.

With notes of wild cherry and raspberry on the nose and a lovely tart mid palate, this is precisely the type of Beaujolais I tend to gravitate to. There is a pleasing balance between the fruit, acid and structure that keeps the wine fresh, but does not sacrifice length and depth. On a sunny day like today this is exactly the type of red that calls my name.

Beautiful floral aromas combine with fresh macerated berry scents that seamlessly give way to dried cranberry and red cherry flavors. Classic structure and great lift make this an ultra-appealing offering.
Top Value! Drink from 2017 to 2022

This is balanced, sweet, clean and very floral with faint touches of iron and earth to the lacy finish. The complexity and elegance at this price is truly amazing.

The classically structured 2014 vintage has been an absolute treat for Beaujolais drinkers, and this Saint Amour is one that is distinctive and expressive showing interesting layers of spice, seductive red fruit, minerality and flora. This is one of my absolute favs in our Beaujolais section right now. Super recommended!

This lovely, aromatic Saint Amour is the perfect red for so many occasions. If you are looking for something that is lower in alcohol, more perfumed yet still satisfying, you have found it!
