LA's newest micro distillery is finally open. Miller Duval and Morgan McLachlan have been planning and building for nearly four years and their little arts district facility is finally cranking out awesome products using 100% in-house fermentation and distillation. Miller's family has been farming in Central California for generations and the inspiration from the distillery was that wonderful fresh California produce. So instead of grain neutral spirit at its base, the gin has a flavorful clementine spirit. The botanicals are relatively classical with some unique additions: juniper, coriander, angelica, cinnamon, grapefruit peel, clementine peel, pink peppercorn, pistachio, sage, orris root and orange tree leaves. The result is something familiar but utterly unique and distinctly Californian. The rich textural and wonderful inherent sweetness of base meld perfectly with the intense aromatics of this special gin. Use this in a perfect martini, negroni, vesper, or just a classic G&T.
