I continue to love the 2014 Syrah In The Hills, and this blend of 95% Syrah and 5% Viognier comes from the estate vineyard (Foothills In The Sun) located around the cellar. Its deep ruby color is followed by a terrific perfume of incense, ripe black raspberries, smoked meat and olive brine. Medium to full-bodied, silky and elegant on the palate, it's just another gorgeous, impeccably made wine from this estate. (JD)
Washington meets Côte-Rôtie in this distinctive and expressive red. Bold aromas of blueberry, violet and bacon fat open to deeply complex flavors of raspberry, licorice and cracked pepper. (TF)
From Reynvaan’s estate vineyard planted in the foothills of the Blue Mountains, and cofermented with viognier, this fierce syrah feels like it’s just emerged from the forest, with its scents of smoke and meaty intensity, and a kind of aromatic concentration that’s thrilling and wild. The flavors are only somewhat tamer—the dark fruit echoes that cocoa blueberry flavor of Kenyan coffee—but for all this compaction, the wine’s texture feels controlled and refined.
