K&L Notes

Eyrie is an Oregon original, famed for planting the first Pinot Noir in the Willamette Valley. That same year, 1965, founder David Lett also planted the area's first Chardonnay. Year after year, this wine demonstrates to us that the best of Oregon Chardonnay need not be overshadowed by Pinot Noir! "I honestly believe that this can hold its own with the best Chardonnays from the U.S. and most Premier Cru Burgundies on the market currently," K&L Domestic wine buyer Bryan Brick said of last year's release. "I don’t know if there is a better Chardonnay for value in the world right now." The wine is aged on the lees in neutral oak for nearly a year, resulting in what the critics also agree is a subtly expressive, long-lived Chardonnay.
