Oh Aglianico...I caught the bug on my honeymoon in Praiano and haven't been able to shake it. When I want a big structured red I'm almost ALWAYS looking at this special grape from Campania. Deep dark red in color, almost black, but not inky somehow. Big nose of dark fruit, earth and mineral. Very clean with no hints Brettanomyces. The palate is very classy and very structured although the tannins are not grippy, but ultra fine and elegant. Earthy red fruit continue until a wonderful gravelly, mineral finish. I'm totally in love.
