A moderately earthy and sauvage-scented nose offers up additional notes of both red and dark fruit along with humus nuances. There is good energy and delineation to the middle weight flavors that are shaped by relatively fine-grained tannins on the firm and ever-so-mildly austere finale. This will need a few years of bottle age to round off the structure a bit more. *Outstanding*
Bright dark red. Aromas of blackberry, raspberry, flowers, earth and spicy oak. Juicy, sappy village wine with dark fruit flavors complemented by salty minerality. Tickles the salivary glands on the finish but this wine needs a couple years to integrate its firm tannins. I found this a bit rustic from barrel but today it's a classic Gevrey villages. (ST)
