The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve boasts serious depth, power and richness. Super-ripe plums, black cherries, raspberry jam, mocha, bitter chocolate and cloves are all layered together beautifully in this seamless, racy Cabernet Sauvignon. A juicy, pliant finish rounds things out nicely. The Reserve can be enjoyed today, but it also clearly has the stuffing to develop nicely for a number of years. (AG)
Deep garnet colored, the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve delivers loads of subtle, savory nuances of bouquet garni, smoked meats, dried wild mushrooms and yeast extract over a core of warm cassis and prunes plus a waft of Ceylon tea. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has a firm line of rugged tannins and just enough freshness supporting the muscular, savory flavors, finishing with a dried herbs lift. (LPB)
Bright, saturated ruby. Brooding, slightly stunted, medicinal aromas of kirsch, dark berries, bitter chocolate, licorice and violet. Then surprisingly supple, smooth and sweet in the mouth, with a pliancy that gives it considerable immediate appeal. The mouthfilling dark fruit and violet flavors show moderate nuance but very good depth. Has the mid-palate stuffing to support its ripe, dusty tannins, which gained in strength as the wine opened in the glass. Still, this is a rather easygoing Cabernet with very good length.
