The 2012 Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru Les Suchots is typically more extrovert and floral on the nose compared to the mild-mannered Les Brulees, with ‘buxom’ blueberry and blackberry aromas. The palate is very harmonious with succulent ripe red fruit: well-integrated new oak and a ripe, generous, sorbet-fresh finish that contains so much energy. This is a great Les Suchots. (NM)
An exuberantly spicy and notably ripe nose displays note of black berry liqueur, sandalwood and hoisin nuances. The supple and very round, even opulent medium-bodied flavors possess a wonderfully refined mouth feel before concluding in a velvety and palate coating finish. Good juice.
Very bright colours. Dense and with great vitality. Real race and pungency. Lots of structure but great terroir purity. Hint of chestnuts and durable energy. 17.5/20 points (JR)
