Le Battistelle’s Soave Classico “Battistelle” vineyard is the steepest slope they have facing more southwest and here the soil is basalt rocks that alternate with tufo, in their dialect it’s called Togo. The nose of this wine is full of dried white flowers, just giving you a remnant of the aromatic but makes it more focused. On the palate the wine is so rich it has an oily nature to it giving it a dense richness that is remarkable being that the wine is only 12.5% ABV. The volcanic minerality gives the wine a more savory, salty character couched in that dense, powerful richness, it just makes your mouth water. The finish is extraordinarily well balanced with incredible persistence, focus and long, long lasting palate presence.

"Le Battistelle" is the Dal Bosco's vineyard site that is composed of Volcanic soils. Although the Garganega grape is generally not very aromatic, the combination of the Basalt, long fermentation at lower temperature and frequent lees stirring gives the wine another dimension of complexity. The 2014 offers subtle yellow fruit, green melon and volcanic soil notes while round and creamy on the palate. Pair this intriguing white with light pastas and white fish.
