*Two Stars* Very ripe, very rich and incisively varietal with an uncanny sense of finesse given its fruity amplitude and considerable size, Duckhorn's Monitor Ledge bottling is a broad, mouthfilling Cabernet Sauvignon that is as continuous as it is wonderfully deep and defined. It is carefully structured and fairly supple in feel for the young wine that it is, and, while its uncommonly well-polished tannins impart nary so much as a hint of toughness, it is a wine that should be given at least a half-dozen years of age in which to fully develop even if it so very tasty right now.
A tight and reserved red with blueberry, black currant and hints of licorice aromas and flavors. Medium body, fine tannins and a fresh finish. Drink now.
From a warm site on the valley floor, this wine is soft and velvety, approachable and sophisticated. An additional 8% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot provide complexity and further softness, the wine buoyant in juicy blueberry, currant and fig. (VB)
Chocolate and baking spice with cooked-plum aromatics and palate. Succulent, ripe, rich palate focused on upfront fruit mixed through with baking spices. Persistent finish. (ECB)
