Here too there are background whiffs of oak toast on the very fresh aromas of red and black cherry, floral, spice and all-but-invisible earth nuances. There is excellent energy to the well-detailed and highly refined middle weight flavors that exude a fine bead of minerality while delivering very fine persistence on the once again slightly warm finale.
Bright medium ruby. An essence of crushed blackberry on the extremely primary, slightly reduced nose, with a violet element providing lift. Reticent and tightly wound but penetrating; less sweet and even stonier than the Lavaux Saint-Jacques. This uncompromisingly dry, mineral-driven wine finishes with lovely lingering perfume but will need patience. (ST)
