(a blend of 1/3 Les Vigneux and 2/3 declassified fruit from the lower portion of the 1er Aux Brûlées). A discreet application of wood sets off ripe and overtly spicy cassis, violet and pekoe tea aromas. There is both good richness and energy present on to the seductively textured middle weight flavors that possess fine depth and persistence on the balanced finale. This is a lovely Vosne villages that should be approachable young if desired. 2021+
(entirely destemmed; bottled in December of 2016): Good medium red. Rather open-knit aromas of strawberry, raspberry and spices. Supple, seamless and sweet, boasting excellent fruit intensity; a very ripe style but with good inner-mouth spicy lift and length. Nothing fat or sloppy about this very satisfying village wine. (ST)
