Every serious winemaker in Portugal wants to make wine in the Dao. It is a region with diverse soil types (featuring predominately granite and slate) and one of the purest Continental climates in all Portugal. Thus Moreira, Olazabal and Borges, who each have wineries of their own elsewhere in Portugal, joined forces to make this phenomenal, mineral driven white. A blend of 70% Encruzado and 30% Bical, this has a lees driven creaminess, paired with bright fruit and fresh minerality, and a low 12.5% ABV. Somewhere between really good Chablis and, for the Spanish white drinkers out there, really good Godello from Valdeorras.
