Toro, known for its hefty, tannic reds from the local clone of Tempranillo known as tinto del pais, can really hit the spot in a successful vintage like 2014, a year in which many winemakers in both Toro and Ribera del Duero say that they had the conditions to make some of their wines to date. The Yaso shows structured dark fruits, with some notable mineral notes, though ultimately plenty of juicy fruit which provides the wines with lots of charm.
