The approachable nose of this wine shows baked blackberry pie in vanilla crust, with touches of dried purple flowers. The palate is similarly crowd-pleasing, with dark berry and baking spice flavors given intriguing depth through hints of game and rosemary. *Editors' Choice* (MK)
The 2015 Esperance Curtis Vineyard, Murray's GSM blend, is racy, exuberant and full of flavor. It looks to be another hugely delicious, pleasing wine from Andrew Murray. I tasted the 2015 from tank just prior to bottling. (AG)
The 2015 Syrah Tous les Jours comes from a multitude of sites in the Santa Ynez Valley and is 100% Syrah that saw a touch of whole cluster and aging all in neutral barrels. I always love this wine and it reminds me of a youthful Côtes du Rhône with its raspberry, pepper and garrigue-scented bouquet. Forward, delicious, beautifully textured and ready to go, drink it over the coming 2-4 years. I’ve always loved the wines from Andrew Murray, and his latest 2015s are rock solid across the board. In addition, they all have singular, impeccably made characters that make them a joy to drink.
The 2015 Syrah Tous les Jours has a medium to deep garnet-purple color and slightly reduced/rubbery nose to begin, giving way to notes of black and red cherries, black plums and mulberries, plus touches of tar and licorice. Medium to full-bodied, with a nice chewy texture and plenty of earthy black fruit in the mouth, it has a pleasantly savory, if relatively uncomplicated, character. (LPB)
