The 2015 Pinot Noir (Sonoma Coast) is a terrific appellation level wine from Peay. Bright red stone fruit, blood orange, tobacco, mint and orange peel give the wine its distinctive upper register. Finessed and light on its feet, the 2015 exudes class. This is a fabulous showing and an overachiever for the year. These are the finest wines I have tasted from the Peay family. Quality is high across the board. This year, Peay is releasing an upper tier Chardonnay and Pinot, both named Elanus. The best of the Elanues series wines are terrific, but this year what impressed me most was the consistency of the entire Peay range. (AG)
