The Seysses family is widely known outside the region; this wine is from their home village. A firm, but still silky wine, with big fruits and pure, ripe strawberry and red plum flavors. (RV)
Ripe, earthy and expressive with airy red Pinot fruit aromas nuanced by hints of minerality and underbrush that blend into sweet, intense, muscular and nicely concentrated middle weight flavors that culminate in a slightly edgy finish. A lovely wine that is very Pinot in style.
The 2004 Dujac Morey AC is lovely and only a couple of years away from reaching its peak. It shows no signs of the pepperiness of the vintage at this point, and will most likely only continue to sweeten as it sees a bit more bottle age. The nose is a complex and classy blend of plums, red cherries, cocoa, incipient notes of sous bois, and a delicate framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is medium-full, pure and quite nicely transparent to the soil, with lovely shape, very modest tannins and lovely bounce and grip on the finish. A classy villages (Drink between 2012-2025)
Medium red. Reticent nose hints at briary dark berries and mocha. A step up in density and sweetness from the village wines, with suppler flavors of musky dark berries, dark chocolate and minerals. Distinctly less peppery. Finishes with riper tannins and very good length. (ST)
