One of the few producers to cultivate the rice that they use to brew their Sake, Marumoto Brewery has also committed themselves to ecologically sound and sustainable practices in the rice fields as well as the brewery. Founded in 1867 in Okayama prefecture, Marumoto grows certified organic Yamada Nishiki rice to create is a true expression of the terroir from which it came. The perfect balance between aromatic complexity and ease of consumption, Chikurin is devoted to creating sakes that are fun, easy and enjoyable without being mundane. Expect a clean crisp nose of green apple skin, champagne, and slight shiso leaf quality. The palate is medium bodied with wonderful lift and a subtle earthiness that keeps it from being too simplistic.
