Produced with Garnacha Blanca grapes, the new 2013 Garnatxa Blanca Brut Nature (they use the Catalan spelling of the grape) is the first I know of produced with the variety. It's sourced from vines grown at high altitude (for Penedès), 800 meters, from 30-year-old plants kept in contact with the lees for no less than 15 months. The nose shows some developed aromas with some leesy complexity and a balsamic touch of camphor, as well as an intriguing note of diesel that develops with time in the glass. The palate shows creaminess, I guess the bubbles, plus the variety and good, incipient complexity. Nice, with a different personality. 6,000 bottles produced (LG) 90+
