Tasting Notes

Agnes and Henri Gaussen cultivate the vineyard of Château de la Noblesse, which has been in their family for generations. Bandol is ground zero for wines made of Mourvèdre, and the 2014 exhibits all the dark and brooding personality you could ask of the grape. With notes of blackberry and dark chocolate, plus a firm tannic core, this is begging to be eaten with a hearty lamb stew.

A must-try alternative for fans of structured Cabernet Sauvignon, this is a generous wine that boasts notes of blackberries, leather, game, peppery spice and great tannin structure. This is a standout choice if you're looking for a bold, rustic red wine to have with hearty meat dishes. Grab a few bottles to put away for several years too - as Mourvedre ages, the tertiary notes that develop are downright seductive and worth the wait.
