The 2015 Gigondas Ventabren, from 80- to 100-year-old vines, is 70% Grenache, 20% Mourvèdre and 10% Cinsault, aged in foudres. The ripe Grenache fruit sings of cherries, raspberries and stone fruit, while peppery spice notes linger on the finish. Drink this full-bodied, supple wine over the next 10-15 years. (JC)
Cut from the same mold as the Traditional cuvée, the 2015 Gigondas Ventabren offers more black fruits, olive, underbrush, and pepper, and is medium to full-bodied, beautifully concentrated, pure and even elegant. A blend of 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah, and 10% Cinsault brought up all in ancient foudres, it shows the more fresh, elegant style of the vintage, has beautiful purity and should be at its best from 2020-2030 (JebDunnuck.com)
Bold, savoury, menthol nose. Delicious, spiced palate that is fresh and very long. Great value. Drinking Window 2021 - 2041
