I love the nose on this wine it’s full of wild cherry, Tuscan brush, leather, rosemary and Middle Eastern spices with hints of smoke. On the palate the wine is supple, round yet has a backbone born of Sangiovese’s long core of acidic structure while the wine has real body, weight and still a delicate richness that seems to emphasize the fruit. This wine is complex lots of wild cherry, leather, porcini, earth, oyster shells, smoke, rosemary, dried meats and spice that play out into a long finish. It has really great balance, I drank a bottle a couple of weeks ago and it was perfect but it will go for another decade plus, it is a total bargain!

What an outstanding find at such a great price. Classic Brunello with phenomenal structure. Dense with elegant tannins, this wine is mouth fillingly rich with juicy refreshing acidity. Dried cherries, chewy tannins, with tertiary aromas of leather and spice. With decanting, this wine drinks beautifully on it's own, but you may find yourself craving wild mushroom ragu, or wild boar sugo.

It's back!!!Albatreti is a newest find ( Our third vintage for you) to Greg & I and we thought that we must share this with you! You will find a lot of Tuscany in this glass that is ripe and fleshy with cocoa, spice, black fruit and density, full-bodied and broad on the palate with complex layers of earth and some good tannin structure on the finish. This is a wine that is very user friendly now and has the aging potential of 5 to 10 or more years. This is the ideal match for red meats and roasted poultry or just a BIG glass all by itself after a long day from work.

My colleagues discovered the wines of this producer several years ago and they have remained customer favorites since. We met up with Gaetano Salvioni in 2016 during our Italian travels and were reminded why. His 2012 Brunello hits all the right notes with wonderful savory red fruit, exotic spices and an overall freshness, depth and length not normally found at this price. We re-tasted this wine recently and it's not only maturing nicely but drinking wonderfully now.

An absolutely delicious wine from an elegant and balanced vintage to decant tonight or lay away. This is rich and ripe with an earthy nose of baked soil and an intense middle of ripe and savory cherry fruit in a round and approachable style. The wine is becoming quite burnished with hints of leather poking through the dry finish of ripe tannin.

We sell a lot of Brunello. It's difficult to argue with the general quality of this very special place, but we do have issues sometimes teasing out the really special wines from a selection of incredible pedigree and value. This Albetreti hits all the notes and delivers on the promise of Brunello that it's the best Sangiovese your money can buy. I love this special grape and this region provides such a variety of styles, it never gets boring for me. But also it's hard to argue that $40 can take you further anywhere else in the world. 7 Years since harvest and this wine is already in developed some serious stuffing. The nose is bold dark brambly berry fruit, but never fruity or jammy feeling. Dense earthy undertones tamp down the fruit. The palate is chewy and dense, although the tannins have softened and we're well into the drinking phase of this special wine. I'm a strong believer in the power and grace of old brunello and this is one that will easily repay your patience, but is already on deck for those that need something tonight!

The bass notes keep pounding! This is a dark beast of a Brunello. I love its weight, power, and assertiveness. It’s kind of a “take no prisoners” style. Dark plums, black berries, and a dose of heartiness inform this earthy, savory wine. It was a great surprise to come up with this 2012 hold over. Such an amazing find. I dare you to find the hearty dish that it can’t stand up to. Drink it now or age it for 100 years! I think it might go the distance, even if I may not.

Most of our Brunello releases are of the 2013 vintage but this little guy has an extra year that makes all the difference! A wonderful savory nose of marinated raisins and balsamic makes the tummy growl with anticipation and once you get it into your mouth the soft abundant tannins will have you singing with joy! This wine is big and beautiful!
