An appealingly fresh assortment of distinctly earthy red and dark currant aromas introduces seductively textured and solidly concentrated medium-bodied flavors where the velvety texture contrasts somewhat with the slightly rustic finale. There is a hint of warmth but overall this is a very fine Pommard villages that is worth considering. *Outstanding - Top Value*
The 2015 Pommard Village la Croix Blanches contains 30% whole cluster and 30% new French oak. It has a lovely black cherry and bergamot-scented bouquet with fine delineation and neatly sutured new French oak. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent ripe tannins, good depth in the mouth with hints of iodine and blood orange towards the satisfying finish. This is very fine for a village cru and it should age nicely over the next decade. (NM)
