Lots of terracotta and red soil highlight the red berries and plums. Full-bodied yet very poised with a dusty tannin texture that gives length and energy. Classic, traditional style. Drink in 2019.
From above the Dalla Valle vineyard in Oakville emerges the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Weitz Vineyard (160 cases). This is a 25-year wine for sure and a rather classic Oakville, with notes of Pauillac-like cedariness, Christmas fruitcake, crème de cassis, licorice and pen ink. It is full-bodied, dense, moderately tannic and for 2014 probably better in 2-3 years time, although certainly has the depth and richness and overall equilibrium to age for 20-25 years. (RP)
The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Weitz Vineyard is a powerful, enveloping wine built on serious intensity, ripeness and textural richness. Dark plum, chocolate, espresso and licorice give the wine its bold, radiant personality. The Weitz shows just how magical this sector in the eastern side of Oakville is. (AG)
