The 2013 Pinot Noir Estate Vineyard feels especially ripe and powerful in this vintage. There is a real feeling of density and power in the blue and purplish-hued fruit. This is the darkest and richest of these 2013 Pinots, although winemaker Andy Smith adds that this is the lowest alcohol of the 2013 Pinots. That is why wine is rarely about numbers alone. 92+ (AG)
The 2013 Pinot Noir Estate is 100% DuMOL Estate fruit from high density plantings, 80% from the Calera selection and 20% from the Swan. The most backward and tannic of the 2013 Pinot Noirs, it has a dark ruby/plum color and notes of forest floor, blackcurrants, cherries, and underbrush. It is spicy, earthy, and best drunk after another two years of bottle age. It does seem capable of lasting 10-15 years. 91+ (RP)
