A 65/35% blend, matured in French barriques. A Shiraz-Grenache that only McLaren Vale can provide: complex, rich and layered, black and red fruits providing a mosaic of flavours on the medium+-bodied palate. The tannin and oak management can't be faulted — it's a lovely wine at a bargain basement price.
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 AAA Shiraz Grenache has a lifted nose of black cherries, black raspberries and star anise with hints of dried Provence herbs and roses. Medium-bodied, soft, juicy, ripe and infinitely more-ish (makes you want more), this has lovely purity and a long, spicy finish. (LPB)
Deep ruby. Aromas of ripe raspberry, cherry-vanilla, lavender and white pepper, along with a suggestion of woodsmoke in the background. Juicy and seamless on the palate, offering appealingly sweet red and blue fruit flavors, a touch of spiciness and building florality. Smooth tannins shape the finish, which clings with strong, floral-driven persistence. (JR)
Full, very dark, near impenetrable black-hued red colour, a little lighter on the edge. The nose is fine and firm with aromas of blackberry and dark-red berry fruits melded with subtle layers of earth and dried herbs, along with nuances of red liquorice, black pepper and spices. Medium-bodied, the palate has well-presented flavours of dark raspberry fruit with black notes, along with spices, pepper and subtle notes of earth and herbs. The fruit is supported by fine-grained, supple tannin extraction, structure and line, the plate sweetness lending accessibility. The wine carries to an elegant, moderately long finish of sweet dark-red and black fruits. This is an elegant Shiraz/Grenache blend with dark raspberry and black fruit flavours and subtle earth and herb notes on a supple palate. Serve with tapas and barbecued red meats over the next 5+ years. A blend of 65% Shiraz and 35% Grenache, destemmed and fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 12 months in seasoned French oak barriques. Certified NASAA biodymamic. *Four Stars*
