Lots of plum and blueberry character with hints of wet earth. Black tea notes. Full body, rich and flavorful. So much going on here. Pretty now but better in 2019
The 2015 Pinot Noir (Russian River Valley) is a fabulous appellation-level Pinot. Succulent and forward, the 2015 has a lot to offer in its bold, racy personality. Juicy red and purplish berries, spice and lavender infuse this gorgeous, inviting Pinot Noir from Paul Hobbs. The 2015 is wonderfully dense and fleshy, not to mention flat-out delicious. (AG)
Dense and well-ripened with a good sense of heft and a Pinot that, at least for now, favors richness over finesse, this moderately full-bodied effort delivers lots of juicy, young, black cherry fruit joined to an ample complement of creamy oak. It is a wine that clearly wants time in which to unfold, and, even if it turns out that subtlety eludes it with age, there is no question but that it has the substance and fruity depth to grow and gain in polish over the next three to five years.
Medium to deep ruby-purple colored, the 2015 Pinot Noir offers a profoundly fruity nose of black cherries, mulberries and black raspberries with hints of cinnamon stick, underbrush and Provence herbs. Medium-full in body, rich, plush and oh-so-juicy, this wine delivers mouth-filling blackberry satisfaction with a lively herbal lift. (LPB)
