    A great starting place to understand the world of super Tuscans, the perfect split of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot can help drinkers see the blend's potential and where their palate will take them next. A fair bit of spice on the nose and black fruit in the mouth makes far more interesting than it ought to be for the price.

    Baracchi's "O'Lillo" continues to surprise as it delivers far more than most expect from a Super Tuscan at this price. Their unique blend of equal parts Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet and Sangiovese is fermented in large conical wood vats and finished in steel tanks so the oak influence is very limited. It's an irresistible red with a smooth texture and ample black fruit flavors that we love to recommend to our customers.

    This is "Super Tuscan" - a very user friendly wine, the blend is 25% Merlot and 25% Sangiovese, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon & 25% Syrah. Lots of dark-skinned fruit with spice and minerals that complete each other on the nose and palate. The wine has pleasantly soft tannins, but good acidity to pull it all together.

    A super Tuscan that fits the budget! This even blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot keeps its Italian flavor even though it is 3/4's French grape varieties, and has the bright red fruit that people love in Tuscan wine. This will make a great partner for your favorite bolognese recipe, or even your Tuesday night pizza.

    The beauty of this Sangiovese blend, what really defines it, is the bright, tangy, snappy red cherry fruit, the marked acidity, the pleasant bitterness, the subtle earthiness, in other words...the Sangiovese! While that may seem self evident, too often Toscana blends are overly marked by international grape varieties that do not portray a sense of place. With the O Lillo, we are unmistakably in Toscana, with Sangiovese leading the way.

    Those looking to delve into the world of super Tuscans without wanting to pay the high price tags many are going for these days should definitely give this one a try. The Sangiovese character still dominates here and that makes this the ultimate Summer/Fall food wine. A budget Super Tuscan with these incredible flavors, yes please!

    The 2016 vintage is incredible in Tuscany and I have tasted some wines in the Barrel that are extraordinary, this is one of the first releases and you’re going to love it! The O’lilo is a blend of 25% Merlot, 25% Syrah, 25% Cabernet and 25% Sangiovese made just outside of the town of Cortona. Syrah in Italy? Yes and Cortona is ground zero for Syrah, it adds a bit of mid palate meat to your classic Super Tuscan blend with Sangiovese and Cabernet. The wine has excellent aromatics displaying the fruits of a spectacular growing season. Once you put the wine in your mouth you experience the supple richness where ripe black fruit melds into the bits of earth and spice. Outstanding wine for the price!
