The 2011 Chambolle AC was a bit more closed than the la Justice bottling, but also showed fine potential. The Felettigs’ parcel of wines here are around forty years of age and the wine was also raised in thirty percent new oak. The bouquet is a blend of red and black cherries, fresh herb tones, a fine base of chalky soil, coffee and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and reserved, with a good core of fruit, moderate tannins and a long, primary and gently chewy finish. (Drink between 2018-2035)
Evocative, open, earthy nose. Delicious. Just a smidge bitter, but has plenty of ripe fruit to counter - very finely tuned. Drink 2015-2025. 17/20 Points (RH)
