Philippe Foreau is the third generation of the Foreau family to produce Vouvray from this fabled domaine--arguably the finest domaine in Vouvray--which his grandfather purchased in 1923. Philippe took the reins in 1983 upon the retirement of his father, Andre. These classic wines age remarkably well and each bottling exhibits an extraordinary panoply of flavors and aromas of fruit, floral, and earth elements. Importer Neil Rosenthal waxed rhapsodic about Foreau's 2015 vintage: "Philippe is a trusted soul who does not talk lightly, so when he claims a vintage to be great, we take notice. When he declares a vintage to be perhaps the finest of his lifetime, we know we are witnessing some of the greatest wines of ours. This is the case with 2015. Work was fairly easy in the vineyards, aided by a warm and dry summer. Only four treatments were needed during the entire growing season. Conditions were good at harvest, allowing Philippe to pick grapes with excellent maturity and balance. The most remarkable thing about his 2015 vintage is the whole range of whites which were produced, all showing amazing potential."

Rich notes of quince marmalade, honey, chestnuts and the exquisite rich and yet balanced palate offers that perfect Vouvray experience. The wine is fabulously complex, and would elevate a dinner to the highest reaches of a culinary experience. A must for Vouvray lovers.
