The 2015 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru, which incidentally Pierre-Yves served after and not before his Chevalier-Montrachet, has a tightly wound bouquet: citrus fruit, a touch of fennel and clove. The palate is very well balanced with more roundness and richness than the Chevalier on the entry. I love the subtle honeyed theme interwoven into this Bâtard, with just a hint of creme brûlée towards the long finish. Just a lovely wine to drink over the next decade.(NM)
A deft touch of wood allows the ever-so-slightly exotic and clearly ripe floral, pear, white peach and citrus aromas to shine. The exceptionally rich, full-bodied and generous broad-shouldered flavors possess excellent power along with a caressing yet entirely serious mouth feel, all wrapped in a hugely long and palate coating finish. This is a very big yet well-balanced effort that displays no heaviness. Patience required.

A bouquet of kalaeidescopic complexity reveals aromas of tangerine oil, pear, honeysuckle, candied citrus and an intriguing top-note of petrol. This is a wine of incredible intensity, concentration and velouté texture, which somehow remains unerringly weightless and precise. One of the white Burgundies of the vintage.
