The 2015 The Integral is a blend of 56% Syrah and 44% Mourvèdre. This interesting blend was inspired by Officer’s love of the estate Domaine de la Grange des Pères, which has been generously reviewed in The Wine Advocate for many years. These two co-fermented varieties have resulted in an inky purple wine with terrific blueberry, black raspberry, incense, charcoal and floral notes, a big, spicy, fat, fleshy, full-bodied mouthfeel, terrific purity and overall equilibrium, with finely grained tannins. This is a serious wine that will go into the bottle unfined and unfiltered. Drink it over the next decade or more. (RP)
An addition to the range, the 2015 The Integral is also one of the highlights in this tasting. Inky, deep and super-expressive, with considerable savory lift from the whole clusters, this distinctive Syrah/Mourvèdre blend is a total knock-out. I can't wait to taste this from bottle. The blend is 56% Syrah and 44% Mourvèdre. (AG)
