Riper and fuller on the nose with anise, mocha, tobacco and intense plum if not prune with soft, forward, lush and opulent mouth coating flavors underpinned by buried structure and excellent finishing intensity. This is a generous but structured effort that will need a decade in bottle to be at its best.
Medium red. Cherry, spices and smoke on the nose. Supple, solid and sweet but with less real depth and class than the Chapelle. There's plenty of acidity here, but today the tannins seem a tad dry. Chocolatey on the back end.
