The first vintage of Mad Hatter was made from the 2003 harvest, with the commitment of making an elegant and well-balanced Bordeaux blend from vineyards throughout Napa Valley. Under the wine-making direction of Tuck Beckstoffer and Shawn Johnson, they have selected vineyards on Pritchard Hill, St. Helena and Pope Valley along with a small amount of Mendocino fruit. By blending Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Verdot and Cabernet Franc, they have created a wine with complex aromas, great balance and a long smooth finish.
