Tasting Notes

The three friends behind Antill Farms met while working at Williams-Selyem after various stints as cellar rats across the country, so they have California Pinot in their DNA. In 2004, they opened up Anthill Farms to pay homage to small growers by producing single-vineyard Pinots (plus Syrah). They also produce two appellation wines, and this alluring bottle showcases the cool, coastal terroir of Mendocino County. Praise for the 2015 vintage from Antonio Galloni: "This is another strong set of wines from Anthill Farms. Low yields are the theme of the 2015 vintage here, as they are pretty much everywhere...The Anthill wines all see a good bit of whole clusters in fermentation (30-50%) and are handled minimally in the cellar. Because of that, the wines can sometimes be a bit cloudy in the bottle. These wines are gorgeous expressions of some of the top vineyard sites in Sonoma and Mendocino Counties." (3/2017)
