Marginally riper aromas of plum, cassis and violets beautifully complement ripe, round and sweet flavors that are supple and this too has a really lovely mouth feel. There is a more evident sense of finishing structure with only the barest trace of rusticity on the slightly warm but admirably persistent backend.
Bright medium red. Redcurrant, smoke, meat, earth and underbrush on the nose; not cooked but very 2003. Big for Santenay, with fat flavors of redcurrant and spice. Finishes with huge, broad, slightly dry-edged tannins. (ST)
