I'm always amazed by the "we found some more of that in the warehouse" story. It gets told a lot and if you've never done inventory, it feels like BS. But as someone who has counted inventory every 3 months for 4 years now I know it happens, usually at K&L it's just a bottle or two. Maybe a full case occasionally that turns up during the count. However, every once in a while, in the behemoth warehouses of distributors, stacks of product can hide for a few inventory cycles. When our barrel of Codigo Anejo landed last December we were surprised that the number of cases it yielded was so low, but chalked it up to evaporation. Turns out 90 bottles of our precious Tequila resurfaced in our distributors latest inventory cycle! This is certainly the last shot at this barrel. If you're one of the many who has lamented the fact you finished your bottle months ago, now is your chance. The nose is incredible, citrus abounds, a gentle pepper nibbles through the layers of complex oak. Vanilla and spice dance on the palate. It's supremely easy drinking, rich and flavorful, and despite being in barrel for so long, it still has a distinct fresh agave flavor.
