(a 60/40 blend of petit verdot and cabernet sauvignon): Medium red. Aromas of cherry, redcurrant, plum, licorice, nutty oak, herbs and pepper, with a riper chocolatey element emerging with air. Juicy red berry and spice flavors lead to a very firm finish featuring serious tannic spine. This should be held a few years. Viader told me that the estate has had its own bottling equipment since 2004, which is unusual for a small family winery. (ST)
