Suze Gentiane Liqueur is a bitter aperitif that has been produced in France since 1889, but we're just getting it at K&L now! Lightly sweet with plenty of gentian bitterness, this is the perfect ingredient for a white negroni, or just plain soda water. Suze was invented in Switzerland and then bought by Fernand Moureaux in 1885, but was not put on the market in France until 1889. It's still in production, now under the ownership of the Pernod group. In 1912, the artist Pablo Picasso depicted a bottle of Suze in his collage, "Verre et bouteille de Suze".
