This is a stunner of a wine. The fruit source, Bien Nacido Vineyard, is the most famous site in the Santa Maria Valley, dominated by Los Osos clay loam soil and greatly influenced by the nearby Pacific Ocean. Other well-known wineries that grab fruit from here include Sine Qua Non, Jonata, Au Bon Climat and Ojai. About 85% of the fruit was destemmed, 15% foot-stomped, and then it was aged 20 months in new barrique. This Syrah is powerful and concentrated without losing balance of acidity and finesse. Notes of smoked meats, raspberries, spices and herbs really take the stage with ageworthy structure and a long finish that’ll keep you coming back.

Wow! Just Wow. These Site wines from Jeremy Winetraub are simply sensational. Fans of Saxum, Sine Qua Non pay attention. The wines are simply packed with fruit intensity and power. This one of the most amazing expressions of Bien Nacido I have ever tasted and that's saying something of one of my favorite vineyards in all of California. A bigger more concentrated style than many but one that also maintains beautiful balance and rigid structure. Classic aromas of dark rose petal, smoked meat, salted plum, brambles and scorched earth. The palate is luscious, full bodied and intense with juicy acidity and length for days. Toasted spices and dried herbs linger on the finish. What a sensational wine balancing astounding power with deft balance and intricacy. Stunning wine and the first in a line up of amazing vintages for Jeremy. This is one project to watch for sure. Also with our winery direct pricing this sells for 1/10th of the price that many comparable cult wines in the area go for with little to nothing lost in terms of quality.

What a Syrah! Produced from cool climate Bien Nacido fruit, this wine is dark and inky, with notes of grilled plum, Hoisin, black pepper, ripe blackberry and cassis. With a massively broad palate, and firm, but supple tannins, the wine is the definition of balance. A bright acidity and an almost briny minerality prolongs the finish.

I am a huge fan of this wine. Aromas start right off with classic notes grilled dark fruits and black pepper. As you dive deeper, other notes reveal themselves like soy sauce, teriyaki, and sweet beef jerky. The palate, the aforementioned grilled dark fruits veer more towards a dried characteristic, along with a noted meaty, umami flavor as well. There is a distinct stony minerality that lingers on the finish additionally. This wine is both opulent but in balance. A great example of Central Coast Syrah
