Weissburgunder, or Pinot Blanc, is often noted for its neutrality, but it is unctuously rich and textural in this wine, with invigorating strikes of white peach, lemon and lime. This is anything but neutral. Full-figured yet stately, it's a lavish complex wine that lingers long on silken streaks of honey and waxy lemon peels. Enjoy now through 2031. *Editors' Choice* (AI)
Still very young and a bit closed, but this is very finely-nuanced with a lot of depth and without much weight. Very long, salty/mineral finish. Better from 2018 and will hold for a couple of decades.
An alluring amalgam of apple, almond and sweet corn announces unmistakably that this is Pinot Blanc. Hints of iris and black tea lend bittersweetly perfumed and complexly smoky intrigue. The combination here of textural creaminess with refreshing brightness, active chalky impingement and clarity is quite marvelous and the finish is superbly persistent and palate-saturating. My chronological prognosis of ageworthiness may well underestimate this wine’s potential. (DS)
Very restrained on the nose with faint floral and herbal aromas. Quite sweet on the palate with pear and lemon drops. Despite a fine herbal finish a little more acidity might have spiced things up a bit. (MS) 17/20 points
