There is enough reduction present to flatten the fruit though the floral notes are discernible. Here too the mouth feel is quite fine as the supporting tannins shaping the middle weight flavors are also very fine-grained. I like the sense of volume which is enhanced by the generous amount of dry extract that imparts a velvety texture to the saline-inflected finale. This is a wine of finesse, indeed it is very Chambollesque. *Outstanding, Top Value*
The 2013 Chambolle-Musigny les Cabots has an open bouquet that is well defined and infused with orange zest, blackberry leaf and a touch of wet granite. The palate is medium-bodied with quite firm tannins on the entry. This is all about focus and linearity, the acidity well judged with a touch of black pepper furnishing the linear finish. This is an assured les Cabots, one that should turn out to be a very “correct” Chambolle. (NM)
