When I think of Chablis I usually imagine a wine with green notes, chiseled, steely with granite chips crunching across my tongue but this wine is that…but shows much, much more. The 2014 vintage is the vintage to give Chablis another try or your first try, the wines are just incredible and pretty much across the board, but this wine is an insane bargain. The nose is utterly complex, stone fruits and stone waft out of the glass, yes actual rock, and the wet stone is a dominant character here but so entirely engulfed in the baked fruit character it adds a tremendous plus. On the palate this wine seems to have Grand Cru density, full, complex, rich yet still vibrant and balanced. The flavors are savory more than fruity and show lots of life and vibrancy. The finish is classic Chablis, excellent acidity but coupled with a density, richness and show superb balance. This will be going in my cellar!

If I'm looking for a bottle of refined, over-performing, old-world Chardonnay at K&L, the first thing I check is to see if we have any Chablisienne left, specifically the 2014s. Coming from one of the world's great value producers, this co-op seems to over-deliver year-to-year and deserves its best-seller status. Case in point is their 2014 "Côte de Léchet." Slightly up the road from Vaillons and Montmains, it is a bit more under the radar, but delivers in spades in this famed vintage. Focused citrus and bright red apple on the nose leads to an impeccably balanced and seamless palate that reflects the citrus notes and pairs with stone fruit and a subtle minerality. It also carries an impressively seamless texture, something that I adore in great bottlings from Chablisienne. For my tastes, it'll be hard to find a better bottle of Chardonnay in the store for this price, but I expect this parcel won't last long.

Rich, ripe, and wonderfully balanced this gorgeous 2014 is precisely what I look for in a classic bottle of Chablis. It tilts ever so slightly towards the fruitier side of Chablis, but in the best way possible. Accents of pear and green apple are joined by more exotic tones of ginger, quince, and melon. Medium-bodied and with great composure, this is easily one the finest 2014 white Burgundies I've had. Like any top-tier Chablis this premier cru bottling is a delight to drink on its own, but also has the spine and minerality to pair quite nicely with a wide array of seafood dishes. For the price, you simply won't do much better than this absolute stunner.

Showing great drive and precision, this is textbook Chablis from one of the strongest vintages for white Burgundy in recent memory. Green apple, lemon peel, stony minerality and a flash of baking spice on the finish. There aren't many '14s available in the market right now and even fewer with a price-tag under $30, which makes this a unique opportunity to stock-up on top vintage Chablis for a song.

This wine offers up a ton of rich citrus fruit, minerality and subtle spice notes with an underlying power that slowly unfurls as the wine comes to life in the glass. A rich and powerful Chablis that has impressive intensity of fruit and minerality.
