Very suave and impressive sweet, earthy notes as well as mocha-scented oak, violets and blueberries. The palate has a swathe of supple tannins with a seamless texture. Really smooth. Good drive and depth, not to mention vibrant freshness on the finish. Great Pomerol. Try from 2022.
Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2015 Bon Pasteur has an expressive nose of crushed red and black currants, black cherries and spice cake with hints of rose petals, dusty soil and tapenade. The medium to full-bodied palate is wonderfully ripe with plush tannins and seamless freshness, finishing long and layered. (LPB)
A smoking good release from oenologist Michel and Dany Rolland is the 2015 Le Bon Pasteur, which is up there with the 2009 and 2010 in terms of quality. Revealing a medium ruby/purple color and a terrific bouquet of red and black fruits, flowers, spicy oak, and mocha, it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, fine, fine tannin (which is a hallmark of this vintage), terrific purity of fruit, and a great finish. It’s already approachable yet should be at its best from 2020-2035. Tasted once.
The 2015 Le Bon Pasteur is a powerful, resonant wine. Super-ripe black cherry, plum, chocolate, licorice and mocha speak with a strong voice in this rich, textured Pomerol. There is not a whole lot of subtlety here. Even so, all the elements are nicely fused together. This flamboyant Pomerol should drink well for the next 10-15 years, perhaps more. (AG)
Shows gusto, wrestling a thick structure into a very ripe, concentrated core of dark fig and boysenberry confiture notes. Offers ample but well-integrated toast. A decidedly not-shy style, with enough cut for balance. (Web Only-2015) (JM)
