The 2016 Puligny Montrachet le Trezin was taken from tank. It had a tightly wound nose at first, opening gradually with citrus fruit and a tang of licorice. The palate is medium-bodied with a slightly honeyed texture, notes of lemongrass and white pepper interlacing the citrus fruit with a tang of marmalade on the finish. It might lack some finesse but there is a lot going on in this le Trezin. Fine. (NM)
A super-fresh array is composed by notes of Granny Smith apples, grapefruit, acacia blossom and a whisper of wood. The racy, intense and beautifully delineated flavors exhibit plenty of minerality on the caressing and more refined finish. This is really quite good and recommended. *Outstanding. Top Value*
Trézin is a very high-altitude site from the hillside above Blagny and the premier cru La Garenne. Aromas of lemon oil, crème pâtissière and chalky soil tones are subtly framed by a lick of new wood. This is followed by a sappy, nicely concentrated palate with good depth at the core, and impressive tension and grip for its level. Drinking Window 2020-2030. (NM)
