(no new oak for this and all subsequent '16s except for the Quintessence): Bright, light yellow. Pure, complex nose combines aromas of peach, lemon, flowers and crushed stone. Lovely Meursault richness here, and not at all in a Puligny style, as this cuvée can often be. More open-knit than the Meursault Charmes, showing good stuffing but also good grip, with a lemon drop flavor and a mineral underpinning giving it backbone. Finishes tactile and chewy, with very good energy and lift. (ST)
Seductively creamy aroma. Rich, mealy and spicy and shot through with wonderful freshness. Power and freshness and all very primary but already sophisticated. (JH) 17/20 points
