Attractive peaches and green mangoes here. There’s real intensity and focus. Plenty of flesh and acidity, too. A very nicely aligned palate. Long and powerful with just the right amount of flesh. Drink or hold.
The 2016 Chablis Montmains 1er Cru has a very pretty, well defined if understated bouquet that opens wonderfully in the glass: flint, granite, hints of Granny Smith apple and pasture. The palate is taut and linear with a fine bead of acidity, a lilting Montmains that just sashays along, leading to a lightly spiced finish that lingers in the mouth. Very fine. (NM)
