When I think of the climate of the Alto Adige, an area right near the Alps, I think of cold weather. But the valley where this Lagrein is grown, squeezed between the Alps and the Dolomites, is one of the 3 hottest cities during the Italian summer. This is great for the thick skinned Lagrein grape and great for us! The Pranzegg is filled with classic black and white pepper flavors with concentrated notes of black berries. It is biodynamic and sees lees contact giving ths wine a great texture. The acidity is not lost in the warm climate, but a balance of full bodied flavor really sets the tone for this wine.
