This wine is a steal at only $24.99 offering $60 value. This wine shines gorgeous medicinal cherry notes with savory herbs of Thyme and Rosemary and would be perfect with any gamey holiday meals you plan to serve this season. This wine stems off of Helen Hill MV (Master Vine) cuttings of the original Clos Veugeot vines in Burgundy and the current release was planted in 1980. These old vines give a beautiful concentrated Pinto Noir that will definitely impress and definitely won't last on the shelf for long.

The nose of this wine is full of spice and a mixture of stems and stones. On the palate this wine has a supple feel but is well balanced with good acidity, that shows off the wine's medium body. Texturally this wine is elegant but flavor wise this wine is bold, so much going on but it won't bowl you over with its 12.8% alcohol . I can see this wine going well with morel mushrooms and a cream sauce over wild rice, I'm going to have to try that.
    Drink from 2018 to 2022

The original cuttings for this clone came from the Clos Vougeot vineyard in Burgundy, and it's origins are very apparent in this expression. Displaying the qualities typically found in Burgundy, this wine if elegant, lifted, and lighter bodied. This particular vineyard was planted in 1980 and the 38 year old vines produce small and concentrated berries, which give dried herb and spice notes. This clone does particularly well in cool-climate Australia, showcasing elegant dark berry and cherry flavors.

This single clone (MV6, also known as the 'mother vine'!) PN bottling from Helen's Hill is delicious and very different from their other single clone, single parcel expressions. Relatively light on its feet, with bright red fruit and clean, foresty aromatics, this is very impressive stuff, transparent, true to varietal and 12.8% ABV.
